Receive Hotmail through Gmail?!

Evolution of the Hotmail brandImage via Wikipedia

Can you receive the email in Hotmail using Gmail? Yes, you can.

Microsoft Hotmail has announced that it supports POP3 partly. so I am going to give a try. Today, when I switched to Gmail(english version), I tried to add the PoP3 address of Hotmail.

Yeah, I succeeded. I received all the Hotmail emails at one time, which meaned that I need not login in Hotmail forever.

How to set up?

1. add a POP3 account in "settings-Accounts";

2.set username=hotmail username, set POP Server=pop3.live.com, and set port=995, at last, select all the three options below.

Now, you can enjoy the Hotmail email in Gmail.

A free and open source proxy server software

Several days ago, I found an open source Http Proxy named GAppProxy. After using it for several days, I found it could provide sound speed.

GAppProxy is written in Python and run on the Google App Engine. Google App Engine provides the advantages for GAppProxy, that is, it needs not special server for Proxy function.

The use of GAppProxy is easy: download GAppProxy, run gui.exe, config IE or firefox with HTTP proxy set to be 127.0.0.1:8000. Then you can use it to access the internet.

Starry starry nightImage by tattoodjj via Flickr

Although the recommendation from Google has been stopped for a long time, you can still use a new service from Google to make money: Google Affiliate network.

It is not easy to find the register address. So I list it here:

http://www.connectcommerce.com

Now, Google affiliate use a separate account to login in which is different from your Google account. But you can take effort to merge them on.
